Located in the vibrant town of Chingavanam, Kottayam, The Palms Hotel was reimagined to offer a refreshed identity—one that blends modern elegance with warm hospitality. The project involved a complete exterior facelift and thoughtful interior renovations aimed at repositioning the property as a stylish, comfortable, and welcoming destination for both local guests and travelers.

The original façade lacked distinction and failed to reflect the evolving aspirations of the hotel. Our design approach focused on transforming this first impression through a clean, contemporary language. Bold geometric lines, refined material palettes, and subtle lighting interventions now give the exterior a confident presence—visible and inviting even from a distance. Strategic additions such as metal cladding, modern parapet profiles, and well-framed signage helped achieve a cohesive and elevated look, all while staying sensitive to the existing structure.

Inside, the renovation focused on enhancing the guest experience. Every corner of the interiors was redesigned to improve spatial flow, daylight access, and comfort. The lobby and common areas were re-envisioned to foster a sense of openness and warmth, featuring natural materials, ambient lighting, and custom furniture that nods to Kerala’s design sensibilities with a modern twist. Guest rooms were given a complete upgrade with minimalist detailing, improved ergonomics, and a muted, earthy color palette that promotes rest and relaxation.

Functionality was as important as aesthetics. Back-of-house service areas were reorganized for better efficiency, and plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems were discreetly modernized to support future operations without disrupting the heritage or charm of the space.

This transformation of The Palms Hotel was not just about renewal—it was about crafting a new story rooted in timeless design and enduring comfort. The result is a hotel that feels both rooted in its location and ready for the future—a revitalized landmark in Chingavanam’s hospitality landscape.
